OG Pilot Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
· Reviewed by Dan
Simple dynamic OG images that can drive 3x more clicks. Great for marketing agencies and sites with lots of pages.
Who Is It For?
Marketing agencies and anyone with a lot of pages. If you do programmatic SEO, run a big product catalog, or manage multiple client sites that need custom OG images per page, OG Pilot is for you. If you only have five pages on your site, you probably don't need it. But if you have a ton of pages and want people to actually click when your links show up on social, this makes sense.
What I Like
Good OG images are a conversion boost. People scan with their eyes way faster than they read text. A branded dynamic OG image can drive up to 3x more clicks. OG Pilot does that in a very simple way.
The tool looks really nice. Onboarding is fast and doesn't waste your time. You can get going quickly with the SDK, or use markdown instructions for LLMs, or even an "Open in Cursor" deeplink. So it fits how devs and agencies actually work.
Pricing is generous. The lowest tier is $5 per month for up to 10K pages. For most people that's a good way to try it and see if it fits. There's also a $2 one-off option at ogpilot.com/new if you just need a single branded OG image for a new app. You get two variations and unlimited refinements. So you're covered whether you need scale or just one preview.
What Could Be Better
You have to verify domain ownership via a DNS TXT record. It's mostly to avoid spam, but for agencies that manage a bunch of client domains it can be a bit of a pain.
Right now dynamic OG images are limited to the templates in the docs. Custom templates are planned for later this year, which will help. Cache busting is fixed at every 24 hours and you can't configure it yet. So it can take a bit to get everything working exactly how you want, but for most use cases it's fine.
On pricing: $5 for 10K pages is solid and not bad at all. To improve the offering, clearer tiers or more flexibility for agencies with many domains would make it even easier to adopt at scale.
Verdict
I highly recommend OG Pilot for every marketing agency and every company with a lot of pages on their website. If you have the problem of many pages and weak or generic OG images, this is a simple way to fix it. Try the trial (100 OG images), and if you're in that world, the paid plan or the $2 one-off will make sense.
